A very short week!

The last two and a half days have gone in a flash but have ended with a fabulous and sunny Cake Sale. I would like to say a big thank you to Bige Kaleagasi for organising the sale and to all the other people that supported her. Once again you were all very generous and keen to buy the amazingly creative cakes and cookies. As a result the PTA have 225€ to add to their Summer Fair funds.

Next Thursday (10th May) it will be the Class 7 Cake Sale and Class 7 will use the money that is raised before they leave us at the end of June. I am sure that they already have some ideas on what they will use it for. Please support them by sending in some cakes or cookies, or by bringing in your 1€ coins to spend. Thank you in advance.

On Monday we are lucky to be having Courtney Campbell visiting school again. Courtney is a Storyteller/Writer/Singer/Songwriter who has spent time with us before. She will be performing for every child in the school and we know that they will all have great fun listening to her and sharing her experiences. If you would like to find out more about her, you can visit her website http://www.courtneycampbell.com/ We must thank the PTA who are funding this event for us, and everybody that has supported their fund raising events as you have made this experience possible. I am sure that your child(ren) will be keen to tell you all about it when they come home on Monday.

Oonagh (our Librarian) would like to remind you your Baker Book Orders and payments need to be sent into school by Thursday 10th May. Please help her by sending these back as quickly as possible so that she can start to place the order. Thank you.

The PTA will be very happy to receive any additional contributions towards the raffle prizes for the Summer Fair. It isn’t too late to make a contribution!

They also need as many volunteers as possible to help with the setting up and running of the event. Please complete and return your forms as soon as possible with your offers of help. If everybody helps it will make the day fun for everyone.

If you want to find out more about the Summer Fair and the ways in which you can help, please attend the next PTA Meeting, which will be at 14:30 on Tuesday 15th May.

Finally, please can I ask you to make sure that your children are supervised when they are in the playground at the end of the school day. We are very happy for them to stay and play in the playground but they must have an adult with them at all times. Unfortunately the Garderie staff can’t be held responsible for children that are not booked into the Garderie Service. The children also need to follow the playground rules to ensure that they are safe. Please remember that dogs should not be on the school premises, if in an exceptional circumstance you have to take your dog into the playground it must be carried. Thank you for your support and understanding in these matters. Your child’s safety is of utmost importance and following these guidelines helps to ensure this.

Let’s hope that there is some more sunshine this weekend, we have had enough rain now.

Best Wishes
