Unfortunately I didn’t make it out into the playground at the end of school yesterday and so didn’t actually see the Cake Sale in full swing. However, I was lucky enough to have a cake put aside and enjoyed it later. I hear that the Sale was a great success and must thank Bora’s Mum (Bige Kaleagasi) for her generous support. A total of 261€ was raised and the PTA are already using this to buy additional prizes Raffle prizes for the Summer Fair.

Please be warned that Raffle Tickets can only be purchased before the Summer Fair, they will not be on sale on the actual day. If you haven’t bought yours yet and need another form you can either download one from where you will find it on ‘The Secretary’s Desk for Parents’ or you can pick one up in the Entrance Hall. Please look at the prizes displayed in the Entrance Hall, as there are some fantastic items for the children. There are also many other prizes, (not on show) which will interest adults too.

The PTA would also like to inform you that their Volunteer’s Schedule for the Summer Fair can also been found on on ‘The Secretary’s Desk for Parents’. If you haven’t received a confirmation letter yet, you will be able to find out your shift times there. There are still some empty slots so any other offers of help will be welcomed.

Class teachers will also be approaching you for your support, as they will need help running their Class activities. If we all help out it will make the day enjoyable for everybody. Thank you for your support.

Please start to send in your donations of bottled goods for the bottle tombola. Anything that comes in a bottle or jar is great for this stall. Anything from champagne to bubble bath. It is much more fun if there are lots of items as you are never exactly sure if you win what your prize will be!

The French teachers will be eagerly awaiting your donations of second hand books, CDs, DVDs and computer and console games. This is always a popular stall and a great way of recycling the materials you have finished with and of replacing them with others.

The International Buffet is also very popular and so please make and contribute a dish from your home country to share with the rest of our community. Everyone is always very keen to taste new dishes, and so the wider the variety the happier we will be.

Finally, I know that there are many talented bakers reading this. For the very last time this academic year, please bake some cakes or cookies for us to sell on the Cake Stall. The EAL team will be happy to sell as many as you can provide!

Thank you in advance for all your support. The Summer Fair is always a fabulous event with the opportunity to meet your friends and to make some new ones too. The choir will be singing and our 40th Anniversary Celebrations will begin. So don’t miss out on the experience.

Please remember to come dressed the part for the event, 70s outfits are the way to go!

Have a lovely long weekend in the sunshine. Good Luck to all of you that will be running in the 20k on Sunday.

See you on Tuesday ready for an exciting week with the Class 7 Exhibition and the Summer Fair to look forward to.

Best Wishes.
