Everybody has returned safely

The Upper School and their teachers have all returned safely from their Residential Trips. It was great to go away, but it is also great to be back home again. I hope that the Class 4 & 5 children enjoyed themselves as much as the Class 6 & 7 children did. I must admit that I didn’t have much opportunity to talk to them before they were whisked off home, but the few that I did all said that the best bit was the disco! I am looking forward to hearing all of their stories on Monday, and am luckily on playground duty so will have a good opportunity to do so.

I am sure that all of the Upper School parents would like to join with me in thanking Ms. Guille, Ms. Harper, Ms. Jacques, Ms. Jans, Ms. Stone and Ms. Wilkins for taking care of their child(ren) during the week. Although it is good fun, it is also a great responsibility and reflects the dedication of the teachers that attend these trips. I hope that they, and all of the children are able to have a restful weekend and will return revitalised for the last week of the school year.

I would also like to say thank-you to Ms. Birch for going to visit Classes 4 & 5 on Wednesday, as I was unable to, and for making sure that everything ran smoothly at BEPS this week, and to Dominique for sending out the messages to let you know that the children were all safe and were enjoying themselves.

I can’t believe that next week is the last week of the academic year it just doesn’t seem possible. However, it is and that means that there will be farewells and the last few celebrations of the year.

On Tuesday (25th June) it will be Sports Day for Classes 1 – 7. This will take place in the school grounds and the bois, so please join us if you can. Exact timings will be sent out on Monday but there will be activities throughout the day. Please remember that there will not be any hot lunches on that day. All children will need to bring a packed lunch, even the children in Pre-school that are not actually involved in the Sports Day. The children will need to wear a T-shirt in their house colour as they will be in teams according to these to compete for the BEPS House Cup. The colours are:

Herge – yellow
Sax – green
Horta – red
Magritte – blue

Your child's teacher will remind you which house your child(ren) is/are in if you are unsure.

I hear that unfortunately some rain hit the Pre-school Sports Day on Wednesday, but luckily the venue could be moved to under the tent in the garden. Despite that I am sure that everybody enjoyed themselves, and I am looking forward to seeing some photographs of the event.

The PTA would like me to inform you that if you would like to make a donation towards end of year thank you gifts for the Specialist teachers that there is a collection box in Dominique’s office.

Finally our Leavers and End of Year Assembly will be held on Friday (28th) at 11.00 am. Hopefully the weather will be good enough for us to be together in the garden, please come along to say farewell to those that are leaving BEPS and to wish them well in the future.

I am now going to go home and enjoy some home comforts and a glass of wine, but will miss the sound of my name being called at regular intervals!

Have a lovely weekend.

Best Wishes
