Thank you to everybody that supported the Class 7 Cake Sale yesterday. As a result of your generosity a total of 223€ was raised. The children in Class 7 are now considering the ways in which the money can be used. I am sure they will inform you as soon as they decide. The next Cake Sale will be run by Class 6 and will happen at the end of October.

This afternoon we had our first 'Buddy Time' of the academic year. The children always enjoy getting to know their buddies and were excited that this was happening today. Class 1 are buddies with Class 6 and 7, 2M are with 4D, 2B with 4J and the Class 3s are with the Class 5s. Class 1 and Class 7 were lucky enough to be entertained by Class 6, who were sharing the moral plays they had written. It was a great way to show how us how we should or shouldn’t behave, and they obviously enjoyed themselves writing and performing them. I look forward to the next time they share their creative talents with us.

You should have received information regarding the Halloween/Firework Party yesterday. As there isn’t too long before this exciting and popular event it will be useful to know how many people are going to be able to help, and how many of you will be attending as soon as possible. This will mean that we can plan accordingly. For safety reasons there can only a specified number of tickets can be sold and these are sold on a first come first served basis. Initially tickets are only available to people within BEPS.

A week on Monday (30th September) the Book Fair will be in school. This will give you and the children the opportunity to purchase books in English. The school benefits from the money you spend, as we can purchase books for 10% of whatever you purchase. These books are put into the library for everyone in the school to enjoy.

Unfortunately there will not be PE in the gyms at the ULB next week. However, if the weather stays dry we hope that classes will be able to use the garden or the woods for their lesson instead. We will be back in the gyms on the following Friday (4th October).

This Sunday (22nd September) it is car free day in Brussels. This will mean that we will be able to go out and about on our bikes, skateboards, scooters and feet without having to cope with the traffic. Let’s hope that the sun comes out to help make this an enjoyable day for everyone.

Before we know it, it will be Monday morning again and we will be back ready to learn. In the meantime, enjoy the weekend and see you on Monday.

Best Wishes,

Mandy Porrett
