It is always good to end the week on a high note and having all the children from Class 1 upwards visiting the Class 7 Exhibition today has really been one of those.

As you may have been aware the Class 7 have been working very hard towards their Exhibition since just before Easter, and yesterday was the time for them to celebrate their learning with their families, friends and invited members of the BEPS community. Unfortunately there isn’t enough space to invite everybody, but we hope that you will take the time to have a look at the results of their research, as they will remain on display until the end of term. They will be more than happy to answer any questions you have and so please come and ask them.

The evening was a great success and the children really shone. There were a large number of proud people and that rightly includes the children themselves. We would like to say Congratulations to each one of them and thank you to everybody that contributed in any way to making this another amazing BEPS experience. They now need to have a relaxing weekend and get themselves ready for their last few weeks of learning at BEPS.

As well as the Exhibition there have been other events taking place this week. Classes 1 and 3 went to the puppet theatre on Wednesday to see Puss In Boots. To add to the excitement they had the adventure of travelling by tram, which they all thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you to everybody that accompanied them on the trip, it always makes things run more smoothly if there are plenty of adults to support the children.

Yesterday Bear’s Cave held their Cake Sale and thanks to your usual generosity they raised a total of 144€. This was the last Cake Sale of the year and we will all miss having the opportunity to buy a treat at the end of the day for the rest of the year. They have already used the money as the PTA kindly gave them a loan (as they had to wait until last for their Cake Sale), which they used towards the cost of their trip to the zoo. Thank you to everybody for making our Cake Sales such a great success, each child in the school benefits from them.

Next week there are two other trips for the children to look forward to. Class 3 are off to the Botanical Gardens on Monday and on Tuesday Classes 6 and 7 are visiting an art exhibition which has been organised by the French department.

On Thursday (22nd May) it is the long anticipated BEPS International Day. This is always a fantastic day and if you would still like to participate in it you are more than welcome to do so, just let us know. We are looking forward to seeing the children coming to school dressed in something that reflects their home country. This means we can easily see how many different countries are represented in BEPS.

Please remember that there aren’t any hot lunches on that day, but that we invite everybody to bring in a plate of food from their home country, which is then shared by the children in their class. This gives everybody the opportunity to taste a wide variety of foods from around the World. You are also invited to come in and share in this fun. More information and exact timings will be available very soon.

We are sure that you will have noticed that the Pre-school building is starting to look different now.  Work on the roof is well underway and you should have spotted new windows being put in place. We are due to have an update from the architect at the beginning of next week and so will be able to tell you more news soon.

At long last the sun has appeared again and it seems as though it should be with us for a while. For that reason, please remember to make sure that your child(ren) are bringing a water bottle to school with them each day and that they have sun cream and a cap. Let’s hope that summer is really about to begin and that it’s not going to vanish again.

However, let’s make the most of it while we can and enjoy plenty of outdoor time this weekend.

Best Wishes,

The Leadership Team
