What’s been happening this week?

Wednesday’s pouring rain didn’t manage to prevent the first phase of the move back into the Pre-school building. Although it made the task of moving furniture more difficult for Luc and Ricardo they battled on through it and completed the task. This meant that yesterday the Lion’s Den could experience their new space for the first time. They seem to be very happy and everybody is very impressed with the facilities. Next week the Bear’s Cave children will also be moving back and on Wednesday the cover at the front of the building will be put in place. Lets hope that the weather conditions will be more conducive this time.

On Monday the Class 3 children had a workshop with Cap Science where they learnt how to identify insects, spiders and other mini beasts. You must ask them about this as they are very knowledgeable and obviously had a great experience.

On Tuesday our EAL and learning support team joined their counterparts from the other International schools in Belgium and Luxembourg to get to know each other and to share best practice. They were very happy to have this opportunity and other meetings like these will be taking place in the future. It is always good to share ideas with other professionals and to learn together.

It was lovely to see so many people at the Summer Drink yesterday evening. We are sure you would like to join us in thanking the management and the PTA for organising this event. Now we need to think about planning the next event.

This afternoon we have been entertained by some of the many talented BEPS children. The annual BEPS Talent Show took place in the garden, and was watched by everybody in the school. As always the performers were incredible and entertained us all in a range of different ways ranging from magic tricks and poetry to singing and dancing. There are certainly some future stars in the making at BEPS, we must remember that we saw their talents here first! Thank you to Ms. Ford and the Talent Show team for organising this spectacle!

There are lots of things to look forward to next week again. On Tuesday Class 2 will be going to the Magritte Museum as part of their learning. They will be exploring light and dark in Magritte’s work and will be taking part in an interactive tour, all of which sounds very exciting. We will be able to tell you about it next Friday.

Next Thursday (12th June) the Book Fair will be visiting us for the last time this academic year. This will give everybody the opportunity to buy some reading material for over the summer holiday. If you won a prize at the Spring Fling, please remember to bring in your voucher to spend. Each class will visit the fair and so the children may like to bring in some money to spend. You are also welcome to come in and visit at any time between 08.30 and 16.30.

The final event of the week will be the Summer Fair. It takes place next Saturday (14th June). The PTA have been busily organising this amazing day of fun for many months, so please try and come if you possibly can. Volunteers are still needed and class teachers will also be asking you for your help. Many hands make light work and so if we all do a little bit there will be plenty of time for us all to enjoy ourselves too. We look forward to seeing you there.

It seems as though it’s going to be a glorious weekend, and this time it’s Dad’s turn to be spoilt on Sunday. Happy Father’s day to you all.

Have a sunny weekend, and don’t forget that there is no school on Monday.

See you all on Tuesday.

Best wishes,

The Leadership Team.
