There has been lots of anticipation in school this week. The Summer Fair preparations have been in full swing, the Upper School children are looking forward to their residential trips and the World Cup started yesterday.

After the long weekend Class 2 went off to the Magritte Museum on Tuesday. They had a fabulous time learning all about Magritte and his work and turning everyday objects into something new, just like he did.  They will happily tell you about their experiences if you ask them. They have another exciting celebration next week too. They are having an end of year pizza party with a magician on Thursday, but please don’t tell the children, as it’s a surprise.

Yesterday we had the final Book Fair of the academic year and the children really enjoyed buying books to enjoy during the Summer holidays, although we are not sure that they will mange to wait that long before they start reading them. Thanks to the number of books that the children bought we now have a healthy commission to spend on books for the library. Thank you for your support.

Next week Classes 4 and 5 will be heading off to the coast to ‘Flipper’ where they will experience a range of activities and learn all about the local environment. Meanwhile Classes 6 and 7 will be in Butgenbach participating in different sports. This will mean that school will be quieter and emptier than usual. Lets hope that the weather treats them well and that they all have plenty of fun.

Whilst they are away Pre-school will be having their Sports Day. This will be held on Wednesday morning. They are always happy for parents to come and watch the excitement, so please come along and can see if you can spot any future sports stars.

The rest of the school will be celebrating the World Cup through their Sports Day the following week (Tuesday 24th June). You should have received a letter regarding this and there will be more information to follow. Everybody needs to be in training for that special day.

But, of course tomorrow is our Summer Fair. The PTA have been working hard to ensure that this is going to be a fantastic event and are looking forward to seeing you there. The fun starts at 12.00 and continues until 16.30, so there will be plenty of opportunity to enjoy the activities, eat and drink, to meet friends and maybe some new people too. Don’t be put off by any fear of rain because there are plenty of tents up to keep you dry.

We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow it’s going to be a great day.

Best Wishes

The Leadership Team.
