Friday again!

We are sure that you are as happy as we are to see the playground progressing again this week. The next job is for the cover to be fitted. Although we are unsure when this will happen we will be able to remove the fence so that the children can use the playground equipment, and the whole playground area once again. This will happen as soon as the safety surface will allow.

Thank you to everyone that came and purchased books at the Book Fair yesterday. The children were as excited as usual to visit the Fair and spent lots of time deciding which was the best way to spend their money. We were able to purchase some exciting new books for the library, and these will be on the shelves soon.

This afternoon we were fortunate enough to have Jim Cummins (Professor Emeritus from Toronto) leading our staff meeting. He talked about Language Acquisition and the development of English, which gave everybody plenty to think about. This is something that we will continue to explore and will be an area of development within the school.

We would like to remind you that Parent/Teacher Consultations will be taking place after school on Tuesday 7th October. You will be receiving your appointment times at the beginning of next week.

You have already received an invitation from the PTA to join them at their General Meeting next Tuesday (30th September). This will take place at 18.00 and they would like as many of you as possible to attend.

Please remember to close the gate when you come into the playground. It is essential for the safety of the children that the gate remains closed at all times. It should not be left open for any reason. Thank you for your support.

The week has gone by in a flash and the children are all fully engaged in their new IPC Units of Work. We are sure that they will be keen to talk about these with you at home over the weekend, and may even want to do some additional research to bring with them next week.

Have a great weekend.

Best Wishes

The Leadership Team.
