What's been happening? Dates for Winter events.

It’s been a short week, and there is another short one next week too. However, there has still been time for lots of learning to happen to be shared.

Both Class 3 and 6 invited their parents into school this week as part of their Exit Point for their Units of Work. Class 3 displayed their circus skills to their parents, and you could hear the cheering and applause from downstairs, so it must have been a great show.

Class 6 entertained their parents with their plays about Theseus and the Minotaur and presented learning linked to Myths and Legends. Everybody enjoyed the experience and the Class 6 children were very impressive.

The Class 2 children went to the Toy Museum yesterday and enjoyed seeing and playing with some toys and games from the past.

Next week it’s Class 4's chance to go out on a trip when they visit the Chocolate Museum on Tuesday. The French team has organised this trip and everybody is looking forward to it.

The week ended on a high note for Upper School this afternoon when Ms. Ford led a Music Assembly. Each Class presented a song and the choir sang too. It was lovely to hear what had been happening in Music and was good preparation for the forthcoming Winter Concert.

As you know this half term there are many different events taking place and we really don’t want you to miss any of them, so please make sure these are marked in your diaries.

Friday 21st November – No school (Teacher INSET Day)

Tuesday 2nd December – Book Fair

Week beginning Monday 8th December - Food Drive for Nativitas

Wednesday 10th December – Winter Fair (11.00 a.m.)

Tuesday 16th December – Winter Concert  (10.30 a.m.)

Friday 19th December – School ends at 12.30.

More information about all of these events will be sent later, but make sure you keep the dates free if you can.

Earlier this year we asked if there was anybody that would be interested in coming into school to help in any way. We would like to thank those of you that offered to come in, and appreciate your support. However, we are still keen to find somebody that would be happy to come and help in the library. If you are at all interested in doing this, please let us know. Thank you.

It has been brought to our attention that some parents were unaware of our intention to introduce an additional year at BEPS. We would like to take the opportunity to inform you all that next academic year we will be offering a Class 8 (for 11 – 12 year olds). We will be inviting parents of children in Classes 5, 6 & 7 to a presentation about the programme for this in January.

Recently Ms. Hertay led assemblies for both Lower and Upper school where she talked about Knowledge, Skills and Understanding. As many of the children are currently reflecting on their learning we are attaching a document from the IPC about this, and would like to encourage you to continue this learning conversation with your child(ren) at home.

Let’s hope that the rain is not going to continue all weekend, we just aren’t used to it anymore.

Best Wishes

The Leadership Team
