As you already know our annual Winter Fair was on Wednesday and was very successful. We are sure that there are many of the children’s craft items on show in your homes, and maybe even further afield.

This week the class 2 also showed their parents their toy making skills when they invited them to, and showed them around their Toy Exhibition. There were many amazing toys on display and the parents enjoyed seeing them as much as the children enjoyed making them.

Next week, is the week of our Winter Concert and although the rehearsals are going well, not all the news linked to it is so good.  Unfortunately, because of the strike on Monday we have now been informed that we will not be able to use the theatre to rehearse. However, the show must go on and so we will rehearse in school on Monday instead. For this reason we are very happy that we moved the time of the Winter Concert to 14.00 on Tuesday. This will mean that the children will have the chance to rehearse in the theatre on Tuesday morning before presenting the production to you.

As there is another event in the theatre that evening we will have to leave by 16.00. This means that the Winter Concert will start at 14.00 promptly, so please don’t be late. If you wish to take your children home with you directly from the theatre at the end of the concert you are welcome to do so. However, for security reasons you must sign the form the class teacher will have with them. This is to ensure that we know the whereabouts of each child. Any child that is not collected from the theatre will be brought back to school to be dismissed from here. The exception to this will be Pre-school and class 1 that will be dismissed from school as usual. Thank you for your support in this important matter.

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to some new faces that you will see around BEPS. After working with the Belgian authorities we are now pleased to officially welcome Ms. Maggie So to our Pre-school team. Maggie is from the USA and is an experienced and specialist Early Years teacher.

We would also like to welcome Ms. Papadopoulou (who came highly recommended from the International School of Ghent) to work alongside Class 1 and Pre-school whilst Ms. Dias is away. And finally, Ms. Radnor who will work with Class 6W until the Winter Holidays. We are sure you will welcome them too.

Dates for your Diary:

Friday 19th December – Break up for the Winter Holiday. School finishes at 12.30

Tuesday 6th January – Back to school for the children.

Tuesday 20th January (18.30 – 19.30)  – IPC Information evening. An opportunity for you to find out more about the Curriculum we follow. More information later, but save the date.

Enjoy the weekend and get ready for the amazing Winter Concert on Tuesday.

Best Wishes,

The Leadership team
