We enjoyed celebrating World Book Day

Celebrating World Book Day yesterday proved to be another day of excitement and fun at BEPS. It was amazing to see so many Herge characters gathered in one place; there were many amazing costumes. The children all enjoyed learning about Herge and using his books as a way of developing their writing skills. As usual everybody enjoyed visiting the Book Fair and Oonagh was able to select some new books to add to the library, which the children will soon be able to discover. Thank you for supporting the day and making it memorable.

We were very happy with the way that the Fire Drill went on Wednesday. The children came out of the school quickly, carefully and quietly. We will be having another one soon, but this time the children will not be warned in advance.

Today Classes 4 and 5 were happy to return to the gym for P.E after their swimming lessons came to an end. They will be developing a whole new set of skills over the next few months and will be preparing themselves for Sports Day for sure.

This afternoon the children from Classes 2–7 were reminded about the BEPS Golden Rules by watching the DVD of the Winter Concert. Please ask your child(ren) if they can remember the eight Golden Rules and talk about them with them as we are constantly reflecting on these.

As you are aware next week Class 5 will be running their Snack Shop called “Sugar and Salt”. Your child(ren) should be able to tell you which day they will be visiting the shop and so which day they will need to bring in some money to spend. The money that Class 5 make through this enterprise will be given to the Blue Turtle Centre a school in Kolkata ( formerly known as Calcutta in India) and we are sure that they will be happy to tell you more about this. Please support our ‘Young Entrepreneurs’ if you possibly can.

We would like to thank those of you that have returned your Re-enrolment Forms and to remind you that these should be returned by Thursday 19th March.

We would also like to take his opportunity to remind you that there will not be school next Friday (13th March). School will be closed on that day, as the teachers will have an INSET Day.

Other dates for your diaries are:

Tuesday 24th March - Parent/Teacher Consultations.

Friday 3rd April - Break up for the Easter holidays. School ends at 12.30.

We have had some sunshine this week and it looks as though it will be staying for the weekend, so we hope you will be able to enjoy it.

Best Wishes,

The Leadership Team
