The last long weekend!

This week we seem to have been talking about or going on trips! On Tuesday the parents of Upper School children were invited to Residential Trip Meetings to find out just what will be happening during the week the Class 4 – 7 children will away this year. We would like to thank everyone that attended these. If you weren’t able to join us you will be able to find a copy of the PowerPoint Presentations used in the meetings on teach of the class websites. The children are already starting to get excited at the prospect of these, particularly Class 4 who will be going on their first Residential Trip with BEPS.

Other trips have actually taken place this week. Yesterday Class 1 went to visit the Little Steam Train and all enjoyed the experience greatly. This morning Class 2 went to the Magritte Museum to see just how he used this imagination to create inventive artworks, focusing on the way he used light and shadow in the foreground and background. They will be developing their skills in this area next week.

This afternoon the sunshine was welcomed by groups of Buddies who went out into the garden to hunt for wildlife and to draw in the style of Magritte. Other children were involved in auditions for the forthcoming Talent Show and so there was an even greater sense of enthusiasm around school than there is usually.

As you know, next week is another short week as there isn’t school on Monday. If you haven’t already placed an order for a Yearbook then you must make sure you do this before 12.00 on Tuesday, otherwise you will be too late.

There will also be more auditions for the Talent Show next week. There are plenty of people rehearsing in the playground and so it looks as though competition will be tough!

Next Friday (29th May) Class 5 are off to visit the Dinosaur Museum as part of their Unit entitled Footprints From The Past. Also on that day our neighbouring school, Lycee Moliere will be holding an Open Day and are inviting BEPS parents to visit between 15.30 and 18.00. They will be introducing an English Immersion Programme for children in the first two years of Secondary School next year and will be very happy to see you and to show their school and what they offer, so please join them if you can.

We are very happy to see so many of you enjoying the playground after school but would like to ask for your support in one respect. The enclosed area outside the Pre-School building is their outside learning area, and contains evidence of their learning. At the moment you will be able to see the plants that they are growing, and at other times there will be other examples of their learning. Please respect this space and support the teachers and Pre-School children by ensuring that your child(ren) do not play inside this space. Unfortunately some of their learning has been spoilt and we would like to ensure that this doesn’t happen again. Thank you for your co-operation.

This really is the last long weekend before the holidays, so we hope that you all enjoy it. See you again on Tuesday.

Best Wishes

The Leadership Team
