Drama and Golden Certificates in Assembly today

Today has been full of drama and excitement. In assembly this afternoon the Drama club shared two presentations of their versions of ‘The Three Little Pigs’. Both were incredibly entertaining and included pigs performing kung fu and a baby wolf! Drama Club certainly looks like lots of fun. Well done to all our budding acting stars.

After the performance our thoughts turned to more serious matters as we were presenting the second Golden Rule Certificates of the year. This time we had been looking out for children that had been displaying the Golden Rule of  ‘Working Hard’. As we explained to the children, these certificates are given to children who do more than is expected of them, and so are not easy to earn, Congratulations to everybody that received one.

The last auditions for the Talent Show took place today. Lots of talented people were involved in all these and the choice for the final line up has now been made. We will look forward to the show, which will take place on Thursday 11th June. Thank you to everybody that auditioned. Ms. Ford and Mme. Easton were very impressed with the variety and standard of you all your talents.

Class 5 had an enjoyable trip to the Natural History Museum to visit the dinosaurs this morning. We are sure that the models of dinosaurs they made at home and have displayed in their classroom wouldn’t have looked out of place there.

There will be further excitement next week. On Tuesday the BEPS choir will be joining choirs from other International Schools from Belgium, Luxembourg and The Netherlands at the British School of Brussels (BSB) for a day of singing and musical experience. We are sure that they will represent our school well and hope that they have a fantastic time.

The Book Fair will be in school on Thursday and so your child(ren) may like to bring some money to spend. This could be a good opportunity to buy some holiday reading material. As usual we will be able to use the money we receive in commission to buy new books for the library. Please come along and visit the Fair, as usual it will be in Class 4 from 09.00 – 17.00.

Then on Saturday we will have one of the highlights of the year. The PTA have been busily organising the Summer Fair for many weeks. The children are full of anticipation and ready to have a great time with their friends and family. The fun will start at 11.00 and continue until 15.00. If you haven’t already volunteered to help, class teachers are now looking for volunteers to help them run their games. If you are able to give a little bit of extra time to help clear up at the end of the day this would also be greatly appreciated.

As you know the second hand Book Stall will be back at the Summer Fair this year. Please bring any donations of books for this into school next week and leave them in the entrance hall. Children’s or adult’s books in any language always go down well!

Thank you in advance for all your support. It is sure to be a fantastic day – let’s hope that the sun will shine.

Best Wishes

The Leadership Team
