On Wednesday we celebrated World Maths Day at BEPS by thinking about Maths in the ‘real world’. All of the children had fun finding out how they use the knowledge, skills and understanding that they develop through Numeracy lessons without even realising it. We hope that they shared their experiences with you, but if they haven’t, please ask them. Lots of the children were also involved in the online World Education

Games and had fun playing against other children form around the world.

Class 4 had a particularly interesting week this week. They had a First Aid workshop with Ms. Hertay and Dominique, and so will be now know how to help out with any playground bumps and bruises! They also led Upper School Assembly this afternoon and taught us all about positive thinking. It was both informative and entertaining and was based around bananas. If you see one of the Class 4 children ask them to tell you more.

Last week we were happy to see Ms. De Weerdt back at BEPS. She brought some of the teachers from her new school to see how learning happens here. They were keen to see how the IPC works, and were impressed with what they saw.

You should have received your appointment times for your child(ren)’s Parent/Teacher Consultation, which will take place on Tuesday ( 20th October). If you have not yet returned your reply slip, please do so on Monday. If for any reason you have a problem on the day and will be unable to keep your appointment, please contact us so that we know. Thank you.

Class 2B parents will receive a letter with the date for their Parent/Teacher Consultations on Monday.

We are sure that you are all aware that it is the famous BEPS Halloween/Firework Party next Saturday (24th October). If you are hoping to attend, please send in the form and money for your tickets on Monday. There are going to be lots of new things to do this year, so please come if you can. The fun will start at 17.00 and the Fireworks will be at 19.30.

Dates for your diaries:

Friday 30th October – Classes 6, 7 and 8 participating in ‘Je cours pour ma forme 2015’

Saturday 31st October – Sunday 8th November – Half Term holiday

Tuesday 10th November – School photographer

Wednesday 11th November – School closed (Armistice Day)

Friday 20th November – Book Fair

Friday 27th November – School closed (INSET Day)

The weather has certainly become much colder this week. Please help us keep the warmth inside the school by ensuring that you close doors behind you when you enter. The heat escapes very quickly through the open doors, as well as this being a security risk.

The children also need to come to school dressed for the weather, and as well as being warm, also need to be able to keep dry if it is raining. They need to have coats that are both waterproof and warm as we like them to be able to go outside to play even if there is a little bit of rain, especially now that we have the covered area in the playground. Thank you for your support.

We are sure you will be busily preparing your Halloween costumes this week, and so good luck – you know the standards are always very high!

Enjoy your weekend.

Best Wishes,

The Leadership Team
