Ready to learn again.

Having a day off in the middle of the first week back after the holiday made it seem a very short week indeed. However, the children came back as enthusiastic as ever and everybody managed to fit in lots of learning.

The children were all very impressed to return and to find a flag standing proudly outside their school. If you haven’t yet seen it look out for it when you drive along Avenue Franklin Roosevelt next.

Some new display boards were also installed during the holidays, and these will soon be filled with learning. You can spot some in the shared areas within the school, and also in some classrooms.

As you know the photographers were in school on Tuesday, and the children really enjoyed having their photographs taken. They were looking very smart and sporting some very fancy hairstyles and so we are sure there will be some excellent photographs for you to share with family and friends. It has to be said that some teachers were far less enthusiastic at the prospect of having their photographs taken, but they all co-operated!

Next week is already looking exciting. Class 3 are off to the Circus on Thursday morning and class 2 are going to the Toy Museum on Friday.

Everybody will be pleased to hear that the Book Fair will be in school again on Friday too. As usual it will take place on the ground floor in Class 6 and the children will have the opportunity to visit it with their class during the day. They may like to bring in some money to spend, or you can visit the fair with them before or after school. We will be able to buy more books for our libraries with the money that we make form the sales. Please come and visit it if you can.

Dates for your diaries:

Friday 20th November – Book Fai

Friday 27th November – School closed (INSET Day)

Wednesday 2nd December – Winter Fair (11.00 a.m.)

There is just one last thing to say before the weekend starts. We would like to pass on our good wishes to any of you that celebrated Diwali this week.

But for now, the weather seems to have suddenly taken a turn for the worse and the rain is pouring down, let’s hope it doesn’t last too long and spoil the weekend.

Best Wishes,

The Leadership Team
