It's Friday once again

As we are sure you are aware this week we have had to reflect on a number of levels. We are, however, concerned, as although we tried to communicate our new security measures with you some of you do not appear to have received the e-mail. As a result we are looking into why this was the case and will be sending a hard copy follow up letter to you on Monday.

We have been in contact with the French Embassy and the police and information regarding this will be in the letter.

As you will have see there was a police presence outside school this morning. However, they were not just outside BEPS, but also outside all schools in the Brussels district. This was after they had received information about an incident in Brussels, and decided that they should be more visible around schools. They will be reviewing the situation and so may be back on Monday.

Despite all of this, learning went on as usual. Class 3 went to the Circus on Thursday morning and came back full of excitement and with many plans for their forthcoming Circus Show. Today Class 2 went to the Toy Museum and despite having a very long journey home enjoyed themselves greatly. They will be keen to start designing and making their own toys next week. We would like to thank the parents that volunteered to support the teachers and children by joining them on these trips, and to the teachers for organising them.

The Book Fair has been in school today, and as always the children really enjoyed visiting it and deciding which book to buy.

As you know, we always try hard to follow our BEPS Golden Rules. Since the beginning of the year we have all been concentrating on the Golden Rule ‘We are Good Friends’. Today was the day when the children that have been demonstrating this consistently and clearly were awarded with a Golden Rule Certificate. Congratulations to everybody that earned one; they are not easily won.

Although we should always be trying to follow all the Golden Rules, the next one we will be really concentrating on is ‘Taking Care of Property’ and certificates will be awarded for this just before the Winter Holidays.

Dates for your Diaries:

Friday 27th November – School closed (INSET Day)
Wednesday 2nd December – Winter Fair (11.00 a.m.)
Tuesday December 15th – Winter Concert (11.00 a.m.)
Friday 18th December – Break up – school finishes at 12.30

We hope you all have a quiet and restful weekend.

Best Wishes,

The Leadership Team
