It is great to see everybody back after the Winter holidays. By the sounds of things everybody had a busy time with lots of fun. However, the children all seem to be happy to be at school again and have settled back into learning very quickly. The highlight of the week for Class 4 was today when they went to visit the Cote D’Or Chocolate Temple. They all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and came back with goodie bags, and lots of new knowledge and questions to spring them into their Unit of Work.
We were very pleased to welcome some new children and their families to BEPS this week and hope that they will feel a part of our community very soon.
We are sure that you would also like to join with us in welcoming a new member to the BEPS team. You may have already met Karim if you use the front entrance at the end of the day as he joined Ms. Hertay there in order to get to know you. Next week he will be at the back gate to meet those of you that use that entrance. He will then assist Luc at the gates in the future.
As you are aware we will be holding our Student Led Conferences on Tuesday 19th January. On this day your child(ren) only need to be at school for their appointment time. You should have received a letter about this in your child’s Blue Bag today. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask your child’s teacher. Please complete one form per family and return it to school as soon as possible. Thank you.
Please remember that following after school clubs, children should be collected from the playground rather than from inside the school building. Teachers will bring the children out into the playground, and so please wait for them there.
We are wondering if you have noticed that we have had some new security cameras installed? These have been placed to add additional cover both inside and outside the building.
Although the children were not in school on Monday the teachers were and we continued our discussions on International Mindedness, which gave us all lots to to think about and consider.
Unfortunately, the DVD of the Winter Concert is not ready yet. The process has been delayed, but the film is currently being edited and boxed and will be available during the week beginning the 18th January. Kurt Goossens apologises for this, but we are sure that it will be worth the wait.
Dates for your diaries:
Tuesday 19th January - Student Led Conferences
Monday 8th – Friday 12th February – Half Term Holiday
Friday 19th February – International/Mother Tongue Day (Please save this date as we will be asking for volunteers to come and share their home countries and culture with us. More information will follow)
We ended our first week with Buddy Time, which was definitely a good thing to do. We would like to wish you all the very best for 2016 and look forward to another exciting term.
