All is quiet at BEPS - the holiday has started!

Despite the harrowing events of Tuesday, the children have remained calm and happy and have been learning just at they usually do. We thank you for your support during this sensitive time.

Unless we hear otherwise, after the holiday we will be able to return to our previous security levels. This will mean that the back gate will be open for access at the beginning and end of school again. The automatic closing device has now been installed, which will mean that when the gate has been opened with a security tag, it will close automatically after twenty seconds. Garderie, Breakfast Club and the new term’s after school clubs will also run. The children will also be able to go back to having break times outside again.

Earlier in the week we asked you to respect our neighbour’s property by not walking through it to reach our school. However, some people have still been using their grounds as a way of coming to the front of school. We are sure that you would not appreciate other people using our grounds as a passage, and so ask you to respect their property in the same way. Thank you.

Please make sure that you check your child’s Blue Bag today. In it you will find an envelope containing next year’s calendar and re-enrolment forms. Please complete the form and return it to school by Thursday 14th April.

We are very happy to be able to tell you that we were still able to keep things very normal for the children whilst they were at school. We would like to thank Celeste and Egon’s Mum for coming into school to talk to the Class 2 children about how their digestive system works. We know they all enjoyed this opportunity and learnt lots from her. Thank you for coming in and sharing your knowledge.

Yesterday all of the children at BEPS had a great time hunting for eggs that had been hidden by the Easter Bunny (and his PTA helpers). We think that they managed to find every last one as they appear to have inbuilt chocolate sensors! We are sure that you would like to join us in thanking the Easter Bunny for letting the PTA help him to organise this event for the children!

Before school ended today a child from each class was awarded with our latest Golden Certificate. Over the last few weeks we have been thinking about the Golden Rule – We are honest, and so the certificates were given to children that consistently demonstrate this. It is not always an easy thing to do, but everyone has been trying hard to do so.

All that is left is for us to wish you a very Happy Easter if you will be celebrating this event, or happy holidays if you aren’t. Please don’t forget that the clocks go forward on Saturday night, and so we will lose an hour. Luckily it’s the holiday and so we won’t have to be up too early.

See you all again on Tuesday 12th April, ready for another term of learning and fun.

Best Wishes,

The Leadership Team
