This week started with the Classes 6, 7 & 8 going off on a trip. They went to a new destination for BEPS, Belgium's largest archeological reconstruction site in Aubechies. The Archeosite is an open-air museum where the children saw reconstructions of some Roman buildings before taking part in two activities. Class 6 experienced the first Olympic games whilst Class 7/8 became legionaries for the afternoon. They learnt lots and had great fun. We are sure they will be happy to tell you about it if you’d like to know more.
Class 7/8 had a particularly exciting week because on Wednesday Charlotte’s Dad drove an International Red Cross vehicle into the school grounds. After giving the children a very interesting presentation on the Red Cross and the chance to practice CPR, they had the opportunity to see inside the van too. It was a fantastic experience and we would like to thank Thomas for coming in and sharing his expertise with the children.
This afternoon the children were very happy to hear that there would be Buddy Time. As usual there were lots of smiling faces and Classes 3 and 6 managed to enjoy the sunshine. Please ask your child(ren) what they did with their buddy, they are sure to be happy to tell you.
As you know there isn’t any school on Monday and so it will be another short week. However, the Book Fair will be in school on Thursday (19th May). This will be the last Book
Fair for the year and so the children may like to buy books in readiness for the holidays. As always we will be able to buy books for the library from the commission we make.
Dates for your diaries:
Monday 16th May – No school
Thursday 19th May – Book Fair
Saturday 4th June – Summer Fair
Week beginning 13th June – Upper School Residential Trips
Enjoy another long weekend.
Best Wishes
