The recent warm and sunny weather came at a perfect time for us. This was not only because it’s great for the children to be able to play in the playground and make the most of our outside learning space, but also because it was the time when we were having a new heating system installed. This meant that we didn’t need any heat in school and so the work didn’t cause us any problems. We will really appreciate this new system next winter when it will no doubt be tested by the inclement weather.

Yesterday the Book Fair was in school. As usual the children thoroughly enjoyed going to look at the books and buying something to take home with them. The large amount of money the children spent meant we were able to choose some lovely new books for classes and the library. We are sure that these will be enjoyed by the children and will encourage their love of books still further. Thank you for supporting the Book Fair.

This afternoon, Raphael, a former BEPS student came to talk to the children in Upper School assembly. He told them about a project that he is going to be involved in during the summer holidays. He will be visiting a village in West Africa, where he will be helping to build a new school. Please ask your child about this project and the ways in which we think BEPS can support it. You will receive a letter with information about the ideas next week, so please look out for it.

Next Tuesday it is the Pre-School children’s turn to go out on a trip. They have been learning all about farms and farm animals, and are really looking forward to their farm visit. Let’s hope that they will have some sunshine for it, although we don’t think they will really mind if they have to wear their wellingtons on that day.

Next Tuesday evening is also the time when Upper School parents can come into school and find out all about their child(ren)’s forthcoming residential trip. Their teachers will be holding information meetings to tell you all about the trip’s events and the items the children will need to take with them. If your child is in Upper School, please try not to miss this important meeting, it will start at 18.00.

Finally, you should have received a leaflet about ‘My School Shop’ in your child’s blue bag today. This is an idea set up by two Mums from BEPS, and is an ideal way of selling, recycling and sharing within our school community. You can find out all about it by visiting their website.

Have a great weekend.

Best Wishes,

The Leadership Team
