Pre-School went off on a trip this week and had a fantastic time at the farm. They enjoyed seeing all the animals and even touching some! They also found out out how to make bread, and lots of other things. They returned to school with a plant to take home and look after. They were so tired after their exciting day that lots of them had a little nap on the bus on the way back to school. We were surprised that some of the teachers didn’t need a nap too!
We would like to thank those of you that were able to attend the Upper School Residential Trip meetings on Tuesday. The information shared at these should now be on your child’s class website, and so if you weren’t able to attend you will be able to find out what you need to know there. If you have any questions, please ask your child’s teacher. The children are really starting to look forward to these trips now, and there has been lots of reminiscing by those that have been in previous years.
Today, some of our Class 6, 7 & 8 children have been participating in an International School sporting event at St. Paul’s school. We sent two teams - one to play football and one to play netball (which was a new sport for them) and they have returned to school with two cups! They came second in both the football and the netball competitions! They have all enjoyed themselves, the glorious weather and the great atmosphere. Congratulations to all the children involved and to Simon (our P.E teacher), we are very proud of you, and particularly when we hear there was great sportsmanship on display. Also thank you to Luc and Vanessa for accompanying them.
That’s not the end of our participation in International School competitions though, as next Friday we are taking another two teams of children to join in an International School Quiz at BICS. They are busily checking up on their general knowledge and are keen to have a go at answering any questions that come in their direction.
Next Week, Class 1 have the chance to go out on a trip. They are off to the Science Museum to see what animals they can find there. We think that they will be very excited when they see the dinosaurs, and are sure they will find lots of other things to explore too.
The other exciting event of next week is the Summer Fair. As you know the PTA have been preparing for this for a long time. They sent an e-mail to you earlier to remind you of how you can help to make this a fantastic event. Please read it to make sure that you will ready for the day. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to send in a raffle prize or to volunteer to help, there is still time to do so. Thank you.
See you all next Saturday, if not before.
