Despite this week being the penultimate week of the year we have had two important events. On Wednesday the children were excited to see the return of a Cake Sale, and knowing that it was for such an important cause they were determined to make it a huge success. True to form they managed just that, and the number and range of cakes and cookies on sale was amazing. The Upper School children were very happy to sell the cakes and everyone enjoyed a very tasty snack on that day. Thanks to your generosity we are very happy to tell you that we have raised a grand total of 390 Euros. This money will help with the school building project in Benin. We would like to thank everyone for their donations of cakes and also for the classroom resources, we know they will be greatly appreciated.
Today we had further excitement when Classes 2 – 8 had their Sports Day. As the weather has been rather unpredictable it was decided that it would take place in the ULB gym. The children were split into 8 teams and participated in 7 different activities with the emphasis being placed on developing their skills of co-operation. The results were great, with all of the children having a fantastic time whilst working as part of their team. We are sure that you would like to join us in thanking Simon (our P.E teacher) for organising it, and to all the other teachers that helped him to make it an amazing Sports Day.
As this week has now come to an end, it means that next week is the last week of the year. Class 3 will be going on the final trip of 2015/2016 when on Monday they go to visit Planckendael zoo as the Exit Point for their IPC Unit ‘I’m Alive’.
The fun continues on Tuesday when some of our talented children have the opportunity to entertain us all in the annual BEPS Talent Show. This will take place from 14.30 and you are welcome to join us if you can. We hope that the weather will be kind as we plan to hold it under the tent in the garden!
On Wednesday it will be party time at BEPS as classes will be holding their end of year parties that morning. Please see individual class e-mail messages to know what will be happening in each class.
All that will mean that Thursday – the last day of term will be with us before we know it! As you know the last day will be a half day and school will finish at 12.30. However, before that we will have our final assembly of the year, where we will say farewell to all the children that will be leaving BEPS and heading off to new adventures. Once again you are welcome to join us at 11.15 to be a part of this.
You will also receive your child(ren)’s End of Year Reports on Thursday, and then it really will be time for the holiday to begin.
Before all of that though, have a lovely weekend.
