The first week was a great one.

It was great to welcome you to, or back to BEPS this week. It was lovely to see both new and familiar faces on Monday and to see the children settling in and making new friends so quickly. We have had a great week and the fantastic weather has definitely helped ease the transition between the holidays and coming back to school.

We would like to thank all of the parents that joined us for the Meet the Teacher Presentations yesterday. We hope that you found them informative and useful. If you were unable to attend you will be able to find the PowerPoint Presentation the teachers shared on the Class pages of the beps-online website. Please take some time to read them and ask your child’s teacher if there is something you do not understand.

If you were not able to attend the meeting yesterday you should have received a copy of the 2016/2017 School Guide, our Home/School Agreement and new information linked to P.E. in the Blue Bag today. Once again please read all of these documents carefully and sign and return the Home/School Agreement on Monday. Thank you for your support in all of these matters.

We were able to gather in the garden for our first assembly of the year this afternoon. We were very lucky as Rafael came to share his Benin school building experiences with us. He left Brussels with the money BEPS raised and all the equipment you donated, and returned with information and stories to share with the children. It was amazing to see what was achieved in such a short time, and to hear how much our support was appreciated.

Following this the children were reminded about the importance of following our BEPS Golden Rules. However, the teachers needed some help in demonstrating these, and the results were entertaining. We are sure that your child(ren) will be happy to tell you more about this fun.

Next week we will be back to even greater normality. Hot lunches will begin on Monday. Please make sure that you send your child in with a knife, fork and spoon as they are not provided by school. If you have not yet signed up for hot lunches, but would like to please contact Dominique. Although they will not be able to have them immediately, she will be able to let you know when they would be able to start.  After school clubs will also begin on Monday.

Please remember that we will hold our Welcome Picnic on Saturday 17th September. This will be from 11.00 – 14.00 in the garden. All you need to do is bring your picnic and a rug and come along to meet other members of the BEPS community. It is a great way to get to know other families. If you would like to bring something from your home country to share with others it is always greatly appreciated.

We hope that you all have a great weekend and that the children have a good rest and will be back ready for a new week of learning next week.

We would also like to send our best wishes to any families that will be celebrating Eid Al Adha on the 12th September.
