This week was certainly an exciting one!
Of course celebrating Halloween was the highlight of the week. It was amazing to see the number of pumpkins in the garden increasing each day. They certainly generated lots of interest, and deservedly so as they were so creative. Thank you to everyone that participated.
On Wednesday BEPS was taken over by characters ranging from witches and ghosts to vampires and superheroes. It was fantastic to see such a range of costumes. The weather was perfect for assembly in the garden, where prizes were awarded for the scariest, funniest and most well carved pumpkins. It also gave the opportunity for everybody to see the pumpkins and and each others costumes. Some spooky music and dancing made the event even more fun.
The children were engaged in Halloween activities in their classrooms during the morning, but we are sure they have told you all about these.
The morning ended with the children ‘trick and treating’ and they were very happy to be rewarded with sweets donated by the PTA. We would like to thank them for helping to make the day an extra special one.
Yesterday the photographer was in school and so the children had their photographs taken. We will let you know as soon as they are available.
Your child(ren) may have told you that classrooms were being packed up over the last few days. This is not because classrooms are moving around, but for a more exciting reason. During half term all of the existing classroom furniture is going to be changed for new furniture. This means that furniture across the school will match, but more importantly will be the correct size for the children in each class. We will be looking forward to returning from the holiday and settling into our new classrooms.
Although there hasn’t been school for the children today the teachers were working collaboratively. A consultant - David Playfoot led the day, which was all about Teaching and Learning and how we think these should look at BEPS. There was lots of discussion and plenty of food for thought.
You may have noticed that one section of the fence from the front of school has been removed. This is in preparation for a new fencing project.
