BEPS is looking very smart

While many of us were relaxing and enjoying a week of holiday last week, there was lots of activity in BEPS.

As you were already aware all of the classroom furniture was being renewed and that meant that all of the old furniture had to be removed. If it hadn’t been for Luc and Karim we may have returned to a school overflowing with furniture! However, they both worked really hard to move out all of the old furniture so that it could be shipped to a school in Yaoundé in Cameroon, before the new furniture was moved in. We are sure that you join with us in thanking them for their hard work.

As well as having very smart classrooms we now also have a very impressive looking internal front door. The old heavy metal door has been replaced with a beautiful and lighter wooden version. As well as looking lovely we are sure this will be easier for everyone to open and close.  We know that your children will have told you all about these fantastic changes to their learning environment and hope that you will come in and see them too.

This week we have started to think about the events that will be taking place this half term. Yesterday, teachers were discussing ideas for this year’s Winter Concert, which has the theme of International Mindedness. Your child(ren) will soon be starting to practice their parts for this with their class and the excitement at the prospect of the big day will start to grow. This will take place on Wednesday 21st December at 10.30 a.m.

Next Tuesday (15th November) the Book Fair will be in BEPS. Our new Book Fair works in a slightly different way to try and make things easier for everyone. You should have received an envelope with a letter about the Book Fair, and should use this to send the money your child can spend. They can then give this to their teacher and is will be easier to identify which money belongs to which child. Thank you in advance for using this envelope and ensuring that it has your child’s name on. You are also welcome to come in and look at the books, they will be on sale on the ground floor in Class 5P.

On Thursday Cap Science will be in school with Classes 7 and 8. They will be involved in some interactive activities linked to the Class 7 Unit of Work ‘Go With The Flow’ which is all about rivers.

Dates for your Diaries:

Friday 11th November – No School (Armistice Day)

Enjoy the long weekend.

Best Wishes,

The Leadership Team
