The week has rushed by in a whirl of excitement with trips and a party being in the forefront of people’s minds.
In terms of trips, Class 8 led the way when they headed off to the Ardennes on Monday afternoon. There they were greeted by snow and more snow, and spent an enjoyable, but quite tiring time learning the skill of Nordic skiing. They returned safely on Tuesday evening full of stories and keen to relive the experience.
Class 3 visited the Magritte Museum on Tuesday. They came back full of knowledge about, and with admiration for, the work of Magritte. We are sure they will be inspired by this trip.
On Wednesday the Class 4 children went on one of the most coveted of all class trips when they visited the Cote d’Or Chocolate Temple. They had a tour of the chocolate factory where they found out how chocolate was made. Then they visited the museum where they enjoyed a video about chocolate. Finally, they made their own chocolate bars and designed their own wrappers before leaving with a delicious bag of goodies!
Not to be outdone Class 2 had the opportunity to experience what it would be like if their vision was impaired or if they lost their sight completely. Their trip to Ligue Braille is certainly a trip that gives them plenty to think about. All of these trips were linked to new Units of Work and we are sure that the children will be very happy to tell you more about them.
