It's Book Day on Monday.

The children all appear to have enjoyed the holiday, but are all enthusiastically learning again. The week has sped by and it was time for a special Friday afternoon assembly before we realised it. It was special because there was the presentation of Golden Certificates and the BEPS House Cup. For the month before the holiday the children had been concentrating on our Golden Rule ‘We are Careful and Safe’. It is great to see that so many of the children have been paying special attention to this and making sure that they are playing safely during playtimes and being careful when they move around the school.

Following the presentation of certificates came the excitement of the House Cup. As you know the children can achieve house points for putting extra effort into their learning and going beyond normal expectations. These points are not easily gained and when they are they are for the benefit of the team the child is a member of. Sax, Herge and Horta had all achieved many points but were narrowly squeezed out of first position by Magritte. Well done to everyone in Magritte.

The excitement will continue on Monday when everybody in BEPS will turn their full attention to books with a day dedicated to these. The Book Fair will be in school and we will be celebrating Book Day too. The children will spend the day thinking about non-fiction books and writing their own information books. It is bound to be a great day and will be enjoyed by all. If you wish to come and visit the Book Fair, please do so either at the start or the end of the school day.

We are looking forward to having the opportunity of talking with you about your children on Tuesday when we have our Parent/Teacher Consultations. If you haven’t already done so, please sign up for an appointment time. If for any reason you will be unable to attend, please inform the class teacher.

Finally, the Lycée Molière have asked us to tell you that Rodolphe de Ghellinck a young  Belgian farmer in Spain will sell  delicious fruit and biological vegetables in the car park of Lycée Molière on Wednesday 3rd May from 12.00 - 17.00.
