School reopens for some, and some other good news

There have been plenty of exciting things happening around BEPS this week.

As you know, we are starting the first phase of our reopening on Monday. Children from Year 2 and 3 will be in school on Monday and Tuesday and our Day Care service will be up and running. We have been preparing the school to ensure that all the necessary health and safety measures are in place and are feeling very excited about seeing the children and hearing their voices and laughter around the school once again. If your child isn’t returning they will have the opportunity to join their class at the end of the day for storytime, so please tell them that they will still see their teacher and friends.

If your child is returning please help us by:

  • Reminding them that they need to stay 1.5 metres away from their friends and teachers. We understand that this will be difficult for the youngest ones, and will support them with this.

  • Sending them to school with a small empty pencil case to put the pencil and pens we give them in.

We invite you all to visit the page on our website which is dedicated to the School reopening. Here you will find everything you need to know about this first stage of our reopening process.

The other piece of good news we have to share with you, is the fact that BEPS has successfully achieved MYP IB Accreditation

After more than two years of hard work, we are happy to announce that BEPS International School is now an IB World School for Middle Years Programme  (MYP) International Baccalaureate (IB).

We recently received confirmation that we were successful in completing the final stage of the MYP authorisation. This process looked closely at the way the school operates, from the underlying philosophy and how, through policies and practices, these align with those of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO). After meeting with the BEPS board, the Secondary School teachers, students, and parents, the IB team commended us on our individualised approach to learning and embodiment of the fundamentals of the IBO.

We now join 5,277 other schools across 156 countries offering one or more of the four IB programmes. The next step in our journey is to begin with application for the Diploma and Career Programmes, so that BEPS becomes a school offering a complete educational package for learners from 2.5 - 18.

Next week will be a short week once again. Thursday and Friday are holidays and so there will be no school or online learning posted on those days and no need for the children to submit learning.

Have a wonderful weekend.

We are looking forward to seeing some of you on Monday.

Best Wishes

The Leadership Team
