A week to be remembered
by Mandy Porrett - Friday, 26 June 2020, 5:33 PM

This week has been so full of excitement and things to celebrate that it’s hard to know where to begin. So, we will start at the beginning of the week and work our way to its end.

  • The children were very happy to see the Book Fair return to school on Tuesday. As always, there was a great selection of books to choose from and the younger children enjoyed listening to a story too. As a result of the sales made we have another large pile of books to add to the library, so thank you all for supporting this event.

  • A year at BEPS would not be complete without the famous Talent Show. We were determined that this event would still take place despite social distancing and the inability to have a live audience. We weren’t sure how the children would react to the idea of a virtual show, but of course we shouldn’t have worried. They were not deterred and it even gave them the chance to display talents that our usual format would not allow. If you have not yet watched the Talent Show you really should by using this link: We are sure that you will join us in congratulating all our talented children, and that it will inspire others to participate next year.

  • Year 6 were the stars of the school yesterday. When we moved into Online Learning we had to rethink the Year 6 Exhibition. The children had already decided which subject they were going to investigate and had started posing and answering questions, but were still in the very early stages of the process. However, they were resilient and positive and carried on with the process realising that the format of the Exhibition would be very different from in the past. We were heading towards a completely virtual Exhibition, but fortunately luck intervened, and they returned to school just in time. As a result, they could also display and share their learning with teachers and the children from Years 3, 4 and 5. However, this is not enough, we wanted them to be able to share their learning and achievements with the wider BEPS community. If your child is in Year 3 - 6, you can use their google classroom login to find the Year 6 Exhibition Classroom. Then click on Classwork to have access to their Exhibition. Enjoy yourselves and remember that the children will be very happy to answer any questions you may have. Congratulations Year 6 and Mr. Handler, you did an amazing job and have given us plenty to think about. You should be proud of yourselves, we certainly are.

  • If you and your family are leaving BEPS to join another school, please will you return your tag(s) before you go. You can do this by putting them in a labelled envelope in your child’s Blue Bag or in the post box by the front gate. Thank you.

  • If you are looking for the dates for the next academic year please use this link BEPS Academic Calendar 2020-2021

  • Next Tuesday will be the last day of the school year. Although we will hold End of the Year Assemblies for the children, unfortunately these will not be open to parents. The usual dismissal times will be followed. Please note that your child(ren) will have their End of Year Report in their Blue Bag, so please ensure they bring it with them on that day. We understand that you will want to say goodbye to your child’s teacher, but please can you support us by continuing to respect social distancing measures and then leaving the playground.

  • Please note that there will be no Garderie on Tuesday.

Important Dates:

Tuesday 30th June: Last Day of School (School ends at 12.00, 12.15 and 12.30)

We head into the weekend with only one and a half days of the academic year remaining, but we still have plenty to do.

Enjoy your weekend and see you all on Monday.

Best Wishes,

The Leadership Team
